Looking at our Patterns
and what to expect

What we make are counted cross stitch patterns of your photo or art work. You do the
stitching on Aida Cloth using DMC Floss or 22 count Linen going over two threads. Most
of our patterns are made to be done on Aida cloth using 14, 16 or 18 count. If your want a
photo done we will make your pattern for 18 count or 16 count. Scenes we can do 14 count
but it will depend on the detail you want. We take each photo or art work and run it
with our color processor to get the best colors possible and then take your photo or
art work and scan it with our program to make sure it will be a good pattern. We scan and
check your photo or art work free of charge if you want. After you pay and confirm
your order and want or need a lot of changes we will place your project on our preview
page for your approval before making your pattern.

Our patterns are in a book form usually made of from 15 to 28 pages. The number
of pages will depend on the size of the pattern and the count used to make your
pattern. The first part of the book are the symbols converted from pixels of your photo.
Each page is made up of blocks of ten stitches and are marked so you can take them
out of the book and lay them on the floor to see your pattern. Below we will show an
example of how this is done. Most 8 X 10 patterns would be made at 4 pages across and
5 pages down so that the squares are large to see the symbols. The last of the book shows
the symbols to DMC floss number and color and the number of stitches needed for that
symbol. It will also tell the number of skeins needed for each floss color.

Our patterns are very easy to use and we have, after ten years, come up with a system
that is easy to follow for the customer for either a new stitcher or the veteran stitcher. Everyone
that works for us does counted cross stitch. This helps the customer if you need help or have a
question.

If you order a kit you will receive the Basic Pattern as discribed above plus a full skein of
floss for each DMC color, A piece of Aida Cloth for the size pattern you order plus two
cross stitch needles. You will also receive full instructions.

The kit is nice if you dont live near a hobby store where you can buy supplies for cross stitching.
Our kits take longer to ship as to save money we may not stock every color and have to wait for
a supply to arrive. This could take up to 20 business days to ship.

Below are a idea of what our pages will look like that you will receive in our booklet

The two that you see (2) means that if you lay out your pattern on the floor page two
will go to the right of your pattern. If you see no number in ( ) that means a new row
will be started.
REMBER The above is only if you wish to lay your pattern out on
your floor to see what it will look like.

We lay out the pages in tem block squares. The center from laft to
right will be shown with a down arrow ()on center page and the center from
top to bottom have a () on the center page. Where the two arrows meet is
the center of your pattern.

Most People who use our patterns start at the top left and go across to the right and
continue till the pages are all stitched. Photo Patterns does not recomend starting at
the center as if you do your laying your hand across the finished part and it will get
soiled from sweet. We also dont suggest doing different parts of a pattern but just
work from top to bottom till done.

We also suggest using a holder that lets you roll the finished part on to the top rooler so as
to keep it clean.

Below is one of the five pages at the end of your book that gives the symbol to DMC floss and other information.

Thats about it, If you have questions ask and if you have comments we are always open to them.
