The Las Vegas Weather station is a private weather
station located in the north part of the valley
about three miles south of Nelis Air Base on Las Vegas Blvd North. We
have had the weather station
for 8 years with it first being in Conklin, NY for the first three
years. We are also an Amateur Radio
Station K2TCO. Weather Observation is an interest that most Hams also
have thus we got ours going.

Our Station is a Davis Vantage Pro
wireless Unit located about 28 foot above the ground.
Our Cams are X-10 Cams with a X-10
Vanguard Pro Pan Tilt and Zoom System with the Vangard remote
software.
We use Ambient Weather Virtual Weather
Station Internet Edition Software for our Station.
Our Lightning Detection Unit is a
Boltek Storm Tracker PCI Using Astroganic NexStorm Software. The
Antenna
for the detector is located about 28 foot above the
ground.
We use a dedicated computer using
Windows XP just for the weather station using Satellite Internet
for
our connection to the outside world.
